The Maternal and Child Health Division is centered around advancing the health and wellness of life givers, children and families. We aim to provide support for families through connection to culture and community. The sharing of knowledge with caregivers encourages the healthy development of children and community.

Early Childhood Development

We aim to foster and improve healthy early childhood development, focusing on Wabanaki familial and cultural practices. We have adapted CDC Milestone Checklists for tracking early childhood development at home from 2 months to 5 years old. How your baby plays, learns, speaks, acts, and moves can offer important clues about their development. As your child’s first teacher, you can help their learning and brain development. These checklists include tips and activities that will help you bond with your child. Click here to view and download our Learn the Signs, Act Early: Milestone Checklist.
