Wabanaki Public Health & Wellness works with each of the five tribal communities to support youth-led youth councils with youth middle school ages and up.

What we do:

  • Build leadership skills and youth capacity to deepen motivation
  • Create change with peers
  • Encourage youth voices/leadership and personal growth
  • Have access to many new and exciting opportunities and collaborations
  • Welcome everyone and their ideas
  • Gain skills in areas we’re interested in, like PhotoVoice (photography) classes
  • Make a difference in our communities
  • Incorporate culture into our meetings/activities
  • Develop our own policies
  • Create language, cultural, and environmental projects
  • Participate in Wabanaki Youth in Science (WaYS) and Wabanaki Public Health (WPH) internship opportunities
  • Host events, fundraise, travel, spend quality time together & more!
