Education Support

  • Promotes and supports secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities for youth (ages 12 -24) and/or their parents to improve overall health and well-being.
  • Assists with curriculum development and implementation of Wabanaki language and history education within all three MIE schools as required by LD 291 (State legislation that requires the teaching of Wabanaki curriculum at all grade levels at all Maine schools).
  • Provides assistance and guidance to other school districts on the implementation of LD 291.
  • Connects students to economic opportunities to take care of themselves and their families.
  • Develops and implements curriculum/program to engage students in 8th grade and help them to identify goals and plan for the future.
  • Develops and implement curriculum/program to engage high school students in building relationships that will increase their opportunities for success.
  • Develops wrap-around programming for struggling youth.
